Default Air shocks question

I posted this in the Dyna section but afterwards I thought I would probably get more traffic in here... so here's my question. I am thinking of running a set of the touring bike 13" air shocks on my 07 Street Bob. Could I eliminate the plastic air lines and just put Schrader valves in each shock? Then I could just pump each shock individually to whatever PSI I need. If this would work, what is involved with doing it? Are the shocks threaded for this and is it as simple as just buying some valves and screwing them in?

Yes, you can replace the air lines with schrader valves. I did this once and got the schrader valves from oreillys for a dollar something for each. They are the same thread. Just unscrew the fittings on the shocks that the air lines go into and screw in the schrader valves.

Thanks. Is it a good idea to go with a heavier weight oil? I read that I may need to change to 10 or 15 weight due to the different shock angle of the bikes. Also would I need to spacers or do the shocks bolt right up?

You don't need anything just bolt them up. I ran higher PSI without changing shock oil for the last few years. I just never got to changing the oil. Here are the NAPA schrader valves.

SHORT NTH 90294 (90-294)
LONG NTH 90290 (90-290)

Make sure the shocks are upright before you disconnect the stock plastic lines.

Hey I thought we already went thru this I use a couple thick ⅛" washers on the lower left mounting bolt to keep the rubber boot from rubbing the belt guard.
