Weird start..
I went out to start the bike up this evening...she is a little tough to get started, but I eventually did...and it was running AWFUL. Backfiring through the carb and pipes..spitting, sputtering. It dies. I'm thinking..oh god. Try to start it again..and it's like it wants to start, but it won't. Keep cranking..finally got it turned over..but it's running awful again..so I let it die (won't idle, so I just let off the throttle). I flipped the petcock over to "Reserve" and hit the starter button...fired right up and ran smooth as usual. Pulled out of the building, and turned the petcock back over to "On" and it was fine. Any idea what may have happened?

Your float was stuck in the down position, delivering way to much fuel. Mine dose it once a year or so. To free it up i close the petcock and run the carb out of fuel. This always works foe me. Or you had a speck of dirt on the fuel seat.......Same result
