Something I was pondering Saturday when out on a ride:
In the spring and the temperature is in the 60's, riding is done in a t-shirt. In the fall when it's in the 60's, riding is done wearing all of my cold weather gear and I'm still freezing my butt off.
Ha! Ain't that the truth!
Applies to more than riding, too. In the spring, first day over 40 and everybody's out jogging in shorts and a t-shirt. First day in October under 40 and everybody's bundled up like Eskimos.
Winter here means that my EITMS won't engage quite so often. Well that, and the days get shorter I suppose. Y'all keep us posted about how rotten the weather is where you're at. Makes some of us feel real good about where we don't live.
Ha.
I actually like the heat coming out of my engine on a cold day.
Im hoping to get a few more weeks riding here in Wisconsin. Once snow or salt hit the ground then it gets parked for what feels like years. Sure your winters are longer and colder though.
Most gorgeous times of year to ride right now...fall foliage, comfortable temps....your nuts aren't hanging down bouncing on the primary covers at stoplights due to the heat making them sag like a 110 year old mans sack.
I try to ride throughout the winter anyways...at least down to 20* F. Roads are cleared very quickly after snow these days...and I have a heated tap by the garage to rinse her down if there was lotsa anti-ice stuff on the roads.
Mine is going bye bye for the winter tomorrow! Temps in the mornings are in the 20-30's , next Sat we turn back the clocks one hour which means less sunlight. Once the sun goes down its too cold to ride in my opinion here.

I don't put my bike away for the winter as we still get some good riding days occasionally here in southwestern Ohio. I do have to use the trickle charger though.

you're 30 minutes east of me....don't put it away yet....check the 10 day forecast. Temps ain't settled into the 20's yet...forecast for the next 10 days...low to mid 40's at night, tween that and 60 in the daytime.
This Thursday...68 degrees..that's almost 70!
Setting clock back an hour means brighter on the ride into work!
