Nobody else have a bad day???
Not bike related, but spent almost 5 hours running 5 measly damn wires in my girl's house. 2 for the sat, 1 phone, 2 speaker.

Starts out when I could not get the fish tape to go up the wall (outside wall, insulated). So I try from the top, easily drill thru the plate. Tape on the wires, down the hole. Nothing. Almost stuck in the wall pulling up. Try several other times, even w/1 wire. No go. Attic is hot. Sweating buckets. Cussing like a mechanic by now (and evidently f-bombs have more sonic heft than 'You see anything?" as my girl heard those and not the questions).

Gonna go thru the closet wall, but she like the idea of the ceiling corner so I do that. When the phone line was moved the wire positions were not marked, so we had to pop the top off another one and get the scheme.

Get the wires run, and the right speaker wire is too short to hook on the easy way, so I had to hold the receiver while she screwed them on blind. And somehow pulling the receiver in and out breaks the easy pins on the other wires, so haveta reconnect them.

Sooo, turn on the DVR and no signal. Pull it back out, reconnect the tuner cables, try again. Get sat chnl 1, no 2. Reconnect 2 on the DVR. Nothing. Go to the wall plate, and pull off 1, then reconnect to prove it will work again. Then put 2 in 1's slot. 2 lights up. So the plate->DVR connections are good. Start checking the back, and while I was holding the cables both channels light. Meaning the coax was broken on the inside. Luckily it was the first 6", but I did not bring cable strippers (Yeah, baby ). Using a steak knife, I whittle the cables down after hacking them off. Since for some reason I brought some cable connectors I was able to get both to work again. Pushed the wires up the attic hole and put the shelves back in, and FINALLY a working stereo system. Started at 8pm, finished at 1am.

Will never have another house (built) that does have wire runs on every wall, and every entertainment-possible room will have the speaker jacks in the walls and ceilings. [:@]
