I have been searching for a good lid comm that is decently priced. I have searched here and found good info. But, looking for one that works well with a half lid. I use a 3/4 and the wife, who rides her own FB wears a 1/2 lid. At the moment we are running the Uclear and I really dislike these things. They just dont work well for us. When we use our full face lids they are ok. But, we hardly ever wear the the full face.
Any one have experience with the helmet types we are running?
We both have 3/4 with face shields and at speeds under 40mph, we can hear each other just fine but at highway speeds, I can hear her but because I'm up front, she can't hear me, no matter how loud I yell.
Some of our friends ride with 3/4 and use Senas. We have used Senas with modular with great results. Just recently we bought Cardo Packtalk so the whole group (up to 10) could talk . We haven't had a chance to use them but they say they work well with half helmets. A couple of our friends have the halfs
My wife and I use Cardo Scala G9x with half helmets and modular helmets. We also ride with a group where there are 6 or 7 other riders with the same. They work great at any speed.
Uclear makes one specifically designed for a half helmet. It uses ear buds instead of the big round ones for a FF. It's just an addon kit so would be a cheaper place to start than a whole new system. I haven't tried them so I know nothing about them, but I love the Uclear system in my FF.
The wife and I both wear half helmets.
I tried 4 different brands of Bluetooth headset before
finding the Sena 20s They are on the high side but they work. You do need to be sure the speakers are
positioned correctly on your ears. good luck
