Man I just got to say , I love cold weather riding! Fresh crisp cold air, bike runs great, gear up with heated jacket and gloves , leather over pants . Stay nice and warm , I think it's better than summer time. I know some can't or won't ride after the salt hits the road , but we don't salt down here , and I like it! Just sayin.... Ride on.

I love it too. Everyone at work thinks I'm crazy riding when it gets into the 20s or 30s.
LOL! Heated gear in West Texas! LOL! I ride all year around here, road conditions permitting. I don't wear any heated gear. I wear a heavy riding coat, gloves, modular helmet, jeans and boots.

I don't have heated gear but sometimes I wish I did. It does get pretty damn cold here sometimes. I have seen low teens quite a few times since I have been here and even single digits once or twice.
I moved around frequently and also lived in Austin, TX for several years until recently. The winter there is cold (some times it touches low teens) but short. I never had (or needed) any heated gear there though.
Now in North Carolina, it's no Philly but still a different ballgame from Texas. I invested in heated gear (a jacket liner from a forum member and gloves from CL) and have been able to extend my riding season until it snows here.
