Judging by the seam welds and the general fit & sizing I'm going with 70's aftermarket tanks , there's all kinda tells in those pictures if you've dealt with enough of them.

Like somebody suggested , make wall art out of them.

I've had a Knuckle and a Pan, but I wouldn't call me an authority on specifics of what you have. I do wonder why there isn't a bracket for the tank shifter. I agree with the suggestions to not alter those tanks in any manner, except perhaps with paint. If they are real, old, you hold history$.

That tank was from 1936 to 1939.

Nope, it is aftermarket. Where is the gas shut-off **** that is supposed to be located just in front of the filler cap on the left side? It is NOT there!!!! Filling in the tank shift gate was common in the chopper era, but it is near impossible to do so with the hole on the top and bottom of the left side tank that would be there.

Sorry to rain on the parade but you just have some aftermarket C h i n k $hit.

Jamesc2008, your tank has the gas line on the left rear of the left tank. That came along after the Pan/Knuck era. People with more modern minds than mine can get specific. Additionally the cross-over lines on the bottom of the tanks were threaded for steel lines and not as yours which are connected with rubber hoses and clamps. Feel free to cut it up how you want. It is only worth what you might have paid for it.

This pic shows the holes (top and bottom) on the left side of the tank that is used for the shut-off rod for the fuel. I have the gas rod tank alignment tool inserted. This pic is from a left side 49 EL tank but the shut-off rod assembly was used on Knuckles as well.

Looks like a cheap aftermarket set of tanks to me....I hope you didn't give more that $40 for them.

Junk!
