I use HD Bug remover when I wash my bike but I've yet to find something that removes bugs easily between washes. Something that doesn't need to be rinsed off.
I use S100 Detail & Wax or Harley Spray Cleaner & Polish between washes but neither removes bugs efficiently.
I've searched the forums and found suggestions such as Pledge andrubbing alcohol but was wondering if there are others.
The best thing to do is get a towel or shammy wet& lay it on the windshield for about 10 mins in the sun. After that the bugs will just wipe off, its awesome, then you can wax& clean as needed
I use a product called Purple Slime. It's a detailing spray I use between wax jobs. I spray it on my fairing after running through bug country and find it works much better than the HD products.
Of course it also helps to have a good waxed base to start with.
You gotta first have wax. Bugs have a common protein that makes 'em gooey. Ever hear of shellac? that's a varnish made from beetle excretions thinned with denatured alcohol. In the shade, dampen a soft rag with Denatured alcohol, let it soak the carcasses, then lightly buff them away. It may take more than once.
Most shops have a product called Wizard detailer that takes them off in a second. The regular Harley stuff does it to. I have never had a problem with scratches or swirls, I'm way to impatient to soak them.

This is about the safest idea, less chance of scratching or using a chemical that may discolor your paint or chrome.
distilled white vinager mixed 1:1 with water and a soft towel works great for the rest of the bike, I second the warm soapy wet towl layed over the windshield idea as well.
