I just wanted to pass on my experience with some riding gear - I bought these overpants last year http://newenough.com/protective_appa...overpants.html
and so far, they've been great. I wear shorts to work about 95% of the time when the temps go above 50 deg. I don't like riding in shorts, so I ordered these off the internet. They have a removable liner and full lenth zippers on the legs, making them very easy to get on & off. When the temps drop (like a cool fall morning) I can put the liner in and still keep warm. I've worn them over jeans on colder days as well (I was riding all the way into January this year).
I have no affiliation with the manufacturer or the web store, I'm just a hppy customer passing on some info. If you are in the market for some overpants, these are well worth the money.
I've had several items made by First Gear -- everything has been high quality. I've been using the First Gear leather overpants, but they're a little too warm & heavy so they usually stay home except when the temps are in the 30s. I'll have to give these a look. Tnx for the info.
I have those overpants and love them. I just replied in another thread about these but I forgot who I bought them from. It was newenough. Good timing.....

When I ran the Vespa store, I had a sample pair of chaps made from cordura with the cut intended to not mat down the crease of dress slacks. Couldn't invest in 150 of them (minimum requirement for production). I empathize with those who have dress codes at their workplace. Years ago, I worked for a clown named Ed Murphy. He kept changing the dress code intent on preventing me from riding my bike to work.

First gear also makes these over pants in a mesh version. Might be a little cooler for those of you wearing them to cover your work pants. Not water proof though!
