I'm 6' 1 225 and had the 2013 Heritage, traded up to a 2015 Road King. More comfortable ride for me and my wife. Better suspension. Bike just feels bigger and accommodating.

Litl D,
I used word tall and the word lanky, but I never said I was big. I'm doing online shopping right now and research. You didn't hurt my feelings because I haven't test driven a bike yet to reject it for any reason. I trying to get a consensus on a Harley that's a favorite for taller guys. I'm sure forward controls, new seat or new stuffing in the seat, and pegs are in my future with whatever bike I get.

There's a Tall Guys thread around here somewhere. Pretty good info in there. If you do a search I'm sure you'll find it.

What I can tell you is there aren't any Harleys that I know of made for tall guys. You have to make modifications to tailor the bike to you. I will say, off the rack, the Heritage (a friend's) gave me more leg room than my Ultra. My Springer Softail with forward controls was miserable until I extended them 2 inches farther out. Then it was just okay. My Street Glide fits me perfectly after having made many changes including a new seat and lowering brackets for the boards. Now it's perfectly comfortable.

And to the Street Glide guy - what makes the Street Glide any smaller than an Ultra or a Road King? They all use the same basic parts.

I got a chuckle out of this, considering I'm 6'2" & 210 lbs and couldn't agree with you LESS....

I am 6'3" and 220. I routinely do 2K+ tours on Sportsters, Street 750, Dyna's and Softails while the overweight barges stay in the garage.

Even though I'm 75 and have arthritis doing 800 to 900 in 12 to 13 hours is not a challenge. Just fold up a little like a pocket knife does and away you go.

My youngest son is 6'5" and 260. He has had Sportsters, Dynas and an Ultra Classic. He makes any bike look small. Just don't tell him as not much of the 260 is fat and he's hot headed like his mother. He did 10,000 miles in two weeks on the Dyna a couple of years back. He had no complaints. His older brother on a R1200RT was in constant misery. I was on a Buell Ulysses and loved every mile.

One thing that may come in handy is a seat that will set you back an inch or 2 from the stock seat. An inch doesn't sound like a lot until you try it.

In before- that's what she said

6'3" and 280lbs. I've had a new fxdwg and now have a street glide. Once I put a mustang seat on each, they were great. Go get the bike and enjoy.
