i wish more people would understand that before bashing anyone. are there unscrupulous lenders out there? sure there are. but i don't feel hdfs is one of them. i've had several loans with them, and have never had any problem. i've always had my loans preapproved through other sources first so when they run my numbers at the dealer, if they can't beat what i already have, no harm no foul. but out of 8 loans that i've had, they've beaten the market on 5 of them.
i set them up on autopay, with a little extra thrown in to pay it off early. if i want to make an 'extra' payment, then i just readjust my autopay for the higher amount, and then after that payment is made, adjust it back. no charge. like many others, if you want to make a phone payment, or immediate payment online, there is a charge. i've never paid one doing it this way.
