It's the only free way besides remember to mail a money order in time..
They have always been cool with me about not charging a late fee for being one or 2 days late..(but wouldn't surprise me if they did others)

Why should I pay for the cost of processing online or over the phone payments?

I've got an idea for you; how about making two payments at once?
That way you're always paying a month ahead.
Why not use "Bill Pay" through your bank account (free), or mail a check in a timely manner. Show some responsibility at what you agreed to do (pay on time).

14 days is about 10 days more than one should need to get a payment in.
