Same. I always tap it a couple times just to make sure it's all the way forward. It's a habit now for sure. But a good one.

Last bike I laid down was a 400 lb Honda in a parking lot at work, and yeah, I was 18 and showing off. Washed out the front end and it pinned my left leg to where I couldn't get any leverage to pick it up. My 'buddies' had to get a good laugh in before they helped lift it off of me. Good thing this was before camera phones.


Can't imagine having to do it on an 8-900 lb bike, although I've been close a few times...

I know! I don't trust it!! The Jiffy stand just doesn't have that positive "click" when it's in the down position like many others do.
I'm thinking about getting one of those aftermarket springs to mount that pulls the Jiffy stand forward.

I hear ya. I tap it forward and sometimes step on it.

Exactly what I do, & never dropped one yet. Except rice, but who cares?

Engine guards... mine's been down twice in 9yrs and with the Guards it won't go past about 45* and you can roll it back up easy ...

I usually do also but for some reason on Friday i just spaced it out and didn't.
