If I don't want someone to pull up at a light, I'll stay towards the middle. I do the same thing in a parking spot. If I'm off to the side, go ahead and park next to me.

Don't make life too hard.

If I am on the interstate and he can keep up with me, I don't mind if he follows.
If he is riding faster than me, (usually a sport bike) I pull over to the right side of the lane and wave him by in my lane.

Like Eddie just said:
Why make life hard...

As a first year rider, I'm not real comfortable riding with someone. I do the biker wave, and I've enjoyed it when other riders pull alongside at the gas station and say hello. But on the road, my concentration can't be divided, so I don't want to have to think about any vehicle, cage or bike, too close to me.

Off topic...Before I had a bike, when I was in my cage and I'd see a bike on the highway, I'd slow down until they caught up, then I'd hang with them a bit and check out their bikes. Now as a rider I realize they probably didn't appreciate that very much!

I don't know you I don't want you next to me, as for someone ghosting behind give them at least a car length gap, 2 is better. Some people don't mind others can get bit twitchy about it particularly the weekend Walter Mitty's getting their bad boy alter ego on.

That is the way I do it.

Their section of the road belongs to them and mine to me.

I would text him and send him a friend request. If he accepts, then you could ride alongside him, lol

I know it's not group riding but this video covers distances which is good for any number of drivers including just 2.

Exactly!! Stagger is the proper method. JR

Yep I think some folks over think things like this. If I come up on another rider I treat them the same as if we were in cars. Follow staggered with the exception of leaving a 2 sec gap instead of the normal 1 sec gap that you normally do when in formation with your ridding buddies. If he goes slower than I want to ride then I pass him, if he goes faster then he's gone.
As for me if another bike comes up behind me I have no issue with them riding staggered 2 sec behind me, actually I welcome it as they are protecting my backside. If you don't want a bike behind you that is obviously going the same direction as you then either haul *** and leave them or go to the right side of the lane and signal for them to go around
