Off topic but since we're on the "Merica" kick....what parts are actually made in the US, percentage of a Harley that is "made" in America? I was under the impression they're more or less assembled here and that's about it. I know when my engine blew they blamed in on internal engine parts that were outsourced to Mexico...comforting.

You are lucky that junk you bought even bolted up to the bike. If you want quality exhaust, buy D&D.

You will never be able to find out a percentage. HD uses intermediary US companies to source overseas parts. In other words, for nuts and bolts, they may buy them from ACME bolts a US company. But ACME buys them in China and resells them to Harley.

For us old Geezers it's a bitter pill to swallow, but trying to keep our money in the US is virtually impossible. The best I can do is try and spend my money on any company that invests in the USA. Ask yourself this, who has made a bigger investment in the USA? Harley or Honda? I have no problem buying Honda.

Awe sh*t!!!!

We made the jump from an ill fitting muffler tip to out sourcing parts to buying products from a foreign owned company.

Ten pages at least

OP
Take them back, make them fit or don't look them when you mount up and ride. Those are your choices.

I looked around, I'm far from the only one with this issue. Look it up "Street Cannon Problems".

To whoever asked me if I tried readjusting the tips/brain surgery....please just go lay down.

Lifters are sourced South of the Boarder. Maybe what "they" were referring to.

You started the thread. You might be a little too uptight for this.

OP ... Pull the tips off and try swapping them side for side ... or ... check to see if there is some "flashing" or "burrs" that are causing the tip not to seat properly

I have an early set of the street cannons. The fit and finish is nice, the caps line right up. I have not had any problems with them and they had "made in U.S.A." on the box.
