I'll wash mine after riding along A1A a few times, and quite often during "Love Bug Season". I use Lucas Slick Mist after washing. Its a spray-on speed wax and can be used on a wet or dry bike. Good on paint, not much on chrome.
I use it too and it works great! i can do a quick detail in 10-15 minutes with this stuff!
S-100 Total when it gets dirty, then Eagle 1 Nanowax when it needs to be shiny. Use it on everything except wrinkle & leather. For the seat & bags I use that Harley stuff that comes in a flat container when you buy a seat. S-100 engine brightener for the wrinkle. Good to go.
My first post wasn't serious,( the one about not riding at all or riding in the rain to wash the bike ) the second one was seriously what I do in regards to cleaning my scoots. I try and not spend too much time detailing and more time getting the bike dirty.
Is all good man,

I wonder how many people ever said - "who look at that clean bike, I wonder what he uses" as you pass them on a highway doing 80mph....
Well not at 80 mph silly, but I've thought about it when I see bikes parked. Nothing wrong with having pride in your ride. My bikes are always clean. Always have been always will be. I'm jst sayin'.
I'll do a thorough job including a coat of Nu Finish twice a year, before winter storage and before riding season. The rest of the time I use spray on, hose off products like S100 or Simple green Aircraft. If you ride your bike it will only stay "spotless" for an hour so "spray and go" cleanings are the good enough thats good enough IMHO. Total pigsty neglect isn't about riding, its about lazy.

the last time my shovelhead was washed was the early 90's. once you get that fine dirt patina it just starts to look right. my 85 gets washed about 2 times a year, sometimes only once.
I clean my bike with Bugslide between every ride. I have done the same thing with every bike I've owned. It doesn't take that long because stuff doesn't build up. Unless it's filthy, I only completely wash it a couple times a year. I also S-100 engine after I wash it.
