running rough
Well here's the situation, the girlfriends 883 sportster's battery went dead. I jumped with the truck (hopefully this was not a mistake- assumed the bike share's a 12v system). I had jumped the battery once before like that and there was no problem.
Anyway, once it was running, the odometer digital was flickering. When I revved the motor, it seemed to be sounding with an irregular pop, like a cylinder was not firing, and seemed to do the same when I actually rode it a very short distance. Also, there was a an audible whirring when as I twisted the throttle handle in neutral.
Is this a common problem, and should I take it in to the dealer (it's outta the warranty period) Any help/suggestions would be appreciated

Tried running it again in the meantime, it seemed to run smoother but clicked when I turned it off then restarted it. With the battery hooked up to the trucks, the bike ran smooth and the odometer worked fine. Looks like it needs is a new battery is all
