Dealers are always going to want all the money for a used bike. You're looking at paying around $1500 more than you need to. What are you getting for that money?

For $8k, that bike better be 100% pristine, freshly serviced, fully detailed, fresh tires, looks new, etc. And they better be throwing in some goodies (free services or something) on top.

If that's the bike, and it's exactly what you want (right model, right color, right add-ons), and you don't mind paying a premium price to get all that, then go for it. Just know you could do a fair amount better.

NEEDS an extended warranty? That's a good one. To the back office, every bike needs one, they are an easy way to make a lot of additional money. Funny how the sales people tell you how awesome the bike is, and the F&I people try and convince you how likely you'll encounter financial ruin if you buy the bike. I especially love the "the computer alone costs thousands", line. Probably one of the least likely components to fail.

I bought a heat gun that was on sale at Harbor Freight for $9.00. The cashier asked if I wanted to get the extended warranty For $3.00 more. They probably make more money on extended warranties than the initial sale. Don't waste your money.
