Kevin thanks for the pics how long is the Ram arm 6" or longer? I see from your pic that it is pointing just a little left, how do you like that when the video is shot?
Ps: love the led bulbs from your company, installed on both of our bikes.

There is the clamp on the bar and then the extension from there is 3".
It can point any direction you want...sometimes I don't tighten it down exactly straight.
I have the gopro 4 silver....I like the touch screen on the back to frame shots and you can preview what you are filming also, there are tons of parts for the gopro...Most any camera you choose will do a great job filming and uploading to youtube, vimeo, etc...Here are a ton of diff angles using the gopro from handheld to being mounted on the bike. I use ram mounts, no gopro plastic mounts at all. click on the video to watch https://vimeo.com/163147643#t=NaNs..... if you look closely you can see the mounts on the bike.....what ever you choose (camera) that's the easy part...the editing is the hardests..
To give the "sense of speed", it's best to mount the camera as low as possible.
When GoPro's work, they're great. But, getting them to work sometimes, just doesn't pan out for numerous reasons. Their audio is unsurpassed though. (when they work.)
i have the gopro hero 4 silver. I agree the camera is the easy part and the editing is what sux. That has been the main reason I was not using my camera much. Due to a crappy laptop and lacking good software, I really couldnt edit much. Just last week a buddy turned me on to IMovie i can use on my phone. I've done a couple video's from just around town trying to get some footage to play around with.
It is still pretty time consuming. My process is this...
Download each video from camera to phone using cameras WiFi. This can take a while if you have 10+ clips to download you want to combine into one.
Then it's just a matter of the editing and splicing in Imovie. Once I have an edited video, I can erase each of the 10+ vids off my phone and off the gopro mem card.
Seems like a pretty cumbersome process, but that's all I got for now.
5 or so years ago I think the GoPro was the absolute best. I think there are some pretty good other options out there now.
I also like the new Sena with the integrated camera.
I record all my rides using a Das Cam, I have a GoPro Hero But I keep going back to the Mobius 1080P action wide angle, it don't have a LCD screen, you can carry it around take Video's or snaps shots. it is stuck to windshield, can also use a ram mount. I edit my Video take snap shot & make some movies.
In the Video when I turned Camera it came loose on mount & got shaky. 1 Pic. is a snap shot from Video.(left click Pic. 1 time after you click to view it for full screen) ( I'm on a Sportster 1200C, me with air cool jacket hee hee)
Gotta make a decision soon. All thoughts, directions, information, opinions welcomed!
If a GoPro, which one and why?
Anyone used the WaspCam Gideon? It seems like more bang for the buck than the GoPro?
Drift Ghost, I'm leaning this direction because I have had a good 5 years with the Drift HD170, and I like the idea of not having to futz with the waterproof enclosure on the GoPro or the Gideon.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Kevin,
If you go with the GoPro (silver or black), be aware of the "chopper" issue. When the Wifi is on while recording you get this chopper noise in the audio. You turn it off and record and its not there. It is a known issue. I bought one from Best Buy and it had the issue. I could either send it back to GP and they'd replace or return it (since it was in the BB return period) so I just returned it. Apparently you have a better shot of getting one without the issue if you order directly from GP because they can't do anything about the stock in circulation other then warranty it. Other than that it was sweet while I had it.
Sorry didn't get to the message that you already purchased something.
I can tell you that I work in the tv, entertainment, movie industry and we use nothing but go pro. Never used or seen any other brand. When the money is on the line, it's a go pro that the pro's use.
