Just trade houses with your parents. Problem solved, PLUS you get a longer commute to enjoy your bike more!

Bad Idea, you just made it really easy to steal it in a portable container.

At least buy a decent shed for storage, why worry about a few hundred dollars after spending thousands on a bike?

I store my bike in an unheated garage or storage unit.

Buy a full tank of non ethanol gas. Add Stabil. Ride for 10 minutes. Change oil and filter.
Wash and wax bike. Store bike. Put steel wool in exhaust. Use fabric softener sheets, not moth *****. Use mice/rat killer or sticky traps. Use a good cover that breathes.

I have stored my bike with -30 degree Winters, no problem. I have stored it with the battery in , and put on a tender once a month. If you don't have electricity in the shed, take it out and store indoors. Put on tender once month until charged, then remove it.

A decent shed is expensive. I like the trailer idea, just secure it.

Let us know what you end up doing.

I stored my bikes in a trailer for years. There are many ways to fix a trailer so it can't be towed. Tongue locks, Denver Boots, alarms, etc.

I have to disagree with temp swings being a problem.. Get it out of the direct weather elements. Visit her often and wipe her down occasionally. Then ride hard.

A lot of good options..A good friend has a custom bike.He has a good size storage shed close to his apartment that he pays $75 a month for and he splits it with a friend for his bike. It's gated secured storage.
I keep my bike in a detached unheated garage...It does fine...
I have thought about an enclosed trailer..Worried about security you could take the wheels off trailer EZ enough. Block it up...no biggie...
Good Luck with your choice...And keep up your insurance...

I have stored all of my bikes in unheated sheds through several Pennsylvania winters and never had a problem. As stated, wash and wax it, fill the tank and add some Stabil and a battery tender and you're good to go. I never had any issues with rust or condensation and I even took the bike out a few times and rode it on nicer days.
