They steal crotch rockets now days They don't want the Harley. 48 years never had a bike messed with traveling. I carry but it is not to protect the bike. Mucked up country we live in now days.
It can be a tough crowd around here sometimes. If somebody steals my bike, they steal it. Insurance will pay. I'll make money, then I'll get another one just like it.
I have the neck locked and a disk brake lock but 3+ guys could still pick it up and toss it in the back of a truck. If someone REALLY wants it, they'll get it.
Forgive me for being new to Harleys and riding in general, asking questions on a forum- a place for discussion. Shove your condescension straight up your tailpipe *****.
Crowd can be a bit rough, but some very good points made. Please, don't pack/shoot over theft of a bike; like other have said way problems created than solved. Listen and learn.

I carry when I ride, except for local stuff, which is most of my riding. But I carry to protect me. Bike is insured; hell let 'em take it. Then I'll buy that new Slim S or Deluxe.

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
When I first started riding over fifty years ago I would park my bike inside my motel room. After about two long trips I quit that. Then I would put a padlock on the steering head and that was it. Now the steering has a built in lock and on my RK I have a security system. All these measures can be defeated by a knowledgeable thief.
However, in the fifty plus (or is it 60 plus ) years of touring, going to bike rallies, parking in front of biker bars, etc., etc. not once has anyone bothered my bike. And most of them were very nice rides.
Unless your daily commute is through Chicago where it wouldn't be legal anyway so I wouldn't worry about it you're not going to get bike Jack'd. Also this is a forum for Harley-Davidson Riders Not for a Toyota Prius. So grow a set.
