I've been buying tires and much else from them for 20+ years. Always reasonable prices and stuff always arrives early!

Talking Ironically....

Got up this m morning and checked my e mail. The Metzler ME 888 that I ordered yesterday from JP Cycles is scheduled to arrive via UPS tomorrow afternoon. Not bad for an 18# package that shipped for free.

Don't ya just love "irony"?

I think there's some irony in you ordering a tire online and asking your indy to mount it - did you give him the opportunity to make a sale? I've given up on always getting the lowest cost, if supporting the local businessman costs a few bucks more - the good will garnered helps when you get in a tough spot.

As far as JP, my last dealing with them involved ordering a pair of baffles, they shipped one, back ordered the other for weeks, but billed me immediately on shipping the first. Phone calls included explaining to the help in Daytona that one baffle didn't work well with dual exhaust..

Last Thursday I ordered some things from Revzilla. This is the first time I have used them but their free shipping cutoff is lower then the others. Saturday morning I had shipping info and the first package was sitting on my door step yesterday morning with the 2nd following close behind about an hour later. I was shocked, I didn't expect to see them until maybe Wednesday.

For me there is an advantage to going through my local Indy. Not only does he make some money but he is always willing to give me advice on what ever I'm working on. He has been working on Harley's for about 48 years so he has far more experience working on the bikes then I do, but every once in a while I get to slip one in on him. Plus I usually get to enjoy a nice short ride out to his place.

since 07 I've ordered at least twice a yr form DK,,, never had a issue and always here in 2-3 days. and they are still my first go to when I order on-line.

sorry you had a problem, but thinking of the K's and K's of orders they get it would not be possible to have a mess up once in a while...

For the record the local Harley dealer quoted me $333.25 for the same tire, {mounted for free???}. I save $73 and get to support a great indy... win, win.
Even more ironic is the fact that if you'd researched JPCycles buying experiences on the forums here, you'd never have bought from them.

I ordered a pizza last week and got it in under 1/2 an hour. Not bad for a 16" package and free shipping.

Since you're into "non sequiturs", (different outfit & different product).

Gotta be a local shop. Free delivery is all but unheard of anymore.

As a matter of fact I did call my mechanic BEFORE I ordered the tire. Asked him if I should buy the tire from him or just get it on line. He told me to get the best deal I could and bring him the tire as he doesn't make squat selling tires.

While I am there getting the new Metzler mounted he is going to check the Vance and Hines Propipe I had him install last month. I have about 700 miles on the bike since the install and the new gaskets should be nicely seated but a re torq is in order. It's nice to have a great indy mechanic I can call for anything.

As far as the DK - JP discussion goes use whoever you like. Both have been around for quite a while. My repeat business will always flow to where I have been treated well.
