I took a ride up through VT, NH and Maine this week. I tied a yellow strip of fabric from a bag of rags I had to my bars in his memory. It pretty much shredded and disappeared in the wind over the 950 miles I covered - but that seemed right in its own way too.
At some point I'll get a proper yellow bandana to tie to the bike in his honor to hopefully go along with a helmet sticker.
This story touched all kinds of riders on several forums, Larry Weaver will be remembered long after the criminals that jumped him have left the planet.
I have been a member for years. It is more then playful banter.
I'd have to agree. A lot of useful information on Advrider but some very outsized egos, some justified many not. All time favorite thread was when Doug Wothke rode a modified Sportster on the Road of Bones. When he arrived in Magadan his post was priceless.
[CNN World Report]
Today, the first Harley Davidson has made it to Magadan, in NE Russia.
BMW GS riders worldwide groaned in disbelief, as they watched the drama unfold on laptop computers from the relative safety of their local Starbucks.
When asked how he felt after reaching the end of the Road of Bones, Doug replied
Im wore out like a 2 dollar ***** on nickel night!
Be careful donating. The email name doesn't match the name of the Daughter and they are using the same picture that the news used. Looks suspicious to me.
If you want to donate to his family there is another link on here a few pages back that has been confirmed legit.
Just a heads up... before anyone here starts a dogpile on this individual or the gofundme link, there's a trusted source checking into this. Hopefully we will have an answer here shortly....

Why wouldn't you put that link in your post so folks wouldn't have to search....just sayin...
That pclark email for PayPal is the one that that CSI (who was his friend and originally posted this story on ADV ) has provided.
The ADV crowd usually aren't fans of ours but this story has really touched all all kinds of riders. The sticker was even designed by one of the inmates DrFXR over there, and PorkButt is working on getting memorial yellow bandanas made up.
Something like this hits home for any rider that's ever gone on a Touring Road Trip.
