For the class a long sleeve shirt is all that is required.
If you have a Cycle Gear store in your area check them out. Good place to try on a bunch of jackets and find something that fits you and you feel comfortable in.
Most of us that ride year round have a closet full of jackets. And whatever you are wearing in the morning will not most likely be what you will be wearing towards the end of the day.
So I bought this, in the Spring. Love it. I read that it is cooler than nothing, but didn't believe it. But it's true. I've worn at 90°, and it is very comfortable. It blocks the Sun, but has fantastic airflow. I just bought one for my son, from House of Harley online, which sells it for 20% off. http://houseofharley.com/men/Harley-...-in-White.html
The armor is extra, but worth it. Excellent quality, comfortable, doesn't shift around.
That's my summertime jacket when I wear a jacket. The armor is a must have if you get this one.
Another vote for the Joe Rocket mesh jackets. I always wear my Joe Rocket while riding, even in the heat and humidity of Houston.
Another vote for wearing just a long sleeved tee during the course. Too much sitting/standing around, idle time, ect. Gets hot enough in just a helmet and gloves, no need to pile it on.
Another vote for checking out Revzilla.com and Cycle Gear (website and brick-and-mortar if you've got one near you).
Oh man, don't do that. I have a similar jacket. I wear it under 60°.
My 45-70° jacket is an Hillside Cordura/Leather Vented. I love this jacket. I'm afraid they quit selling it, can't find it on their website.
I intended that to be good for hot weather, but it wasn't.

I have that jacket in the black/grey version. I prefer the Schott in all but the rain/cold.
I have a tourmaster mesh jacket. honestly, I only wear it in the spring and fall when there is a chill in the air. I usually wear a long sleeve t-shirt to protect my arms from the sun. Once and a while I will put on my leather vest.
I have an older version of this jacket and it's great. It gives you a good mesh for warm weather, a rain liner, and an insulated liner. For $170 it's a great all-around piece that will suit you in many conditions.
