I am thinking of an extended heel shifter for my RK and size 13 foot. I seen them 1" over and 2 1/4" over. Has anyone tried one of these and if you did what length did you get?
Also make sure the angles are low to give you the most room.
Anyone got any good tips for sliding them off? I've done it many times, it always involves banging and taping and, and just never slides off easy. Maybe grease splines next time. But I have sprayed lube in when trying to get it off.
I was thinking about a plastic logging wedge and grind different angles.
My tip is anti seize the bolt. You can torque it more, without stripping. I haven't had one come loose since then.
I put one on that is something like 2 or 3 inches longer. It moves the peg out to the rear of the footboard. One thing to consider that I haven't completed yet, is to put on the footboard spacers to move your board out 1 inch. Reason for this is that the extended shifter sits above the rear of the board so you have to lift your heel to shift. with the spacer for the footboard you should be able to set the shifter lower.
I did pull mine off and put a chrome cap over the splines. I liked the heel shift but not the clutter with my big feet. Putting the shifter peg back a couple of inches seems like it would get me both a roomy footboard and heel shifting.
I did the Kury...I think it was 1".....I do not have big feet, but set the lever low to the back of the footboard - small lift of the heel does it. Room to slide around - feels like almost equal to the brake side. Expensive for a single lever, but I think worth it in the long run.
I seen some expensive ones but I also seen them on eBay for 35.00. Not much to them, a hole on one end with a pinch bolt and a threaded hole on the other and not much stress. I can't see 80.00 for one.

i take the bolt all the way out, and the lever slides right off. never had a problem.
