Just bought the True Elements vest off of amazon, $89. Its unbelievable for the price. Good leather and hardware, plus the concealed carry pockets have a elastic gun retainer in them that works perfect on my LC9. Cant go wrong for the money. There are a bunch of good reviews of it as well on amazon.
With you being from Charlotte NC it is a very easy and worth while drive to Fox Creek Leather (Independence VA). I live just outside Charlotte and have made the trip many times. (about 250 miles round trip for me)
Leather vest run from $209 to $275 and they are worth every penny, some of the highest quality I have ever seen and the people are an absolute pleasure to work with. If it does not fit like you like it, just talk with them about what you would like changed.
The company is owned by a rider that understands fit.
I have their Superstar style jacket and love it, even been through a crash with it and have the scuffs on it to prove it lol, great jacket, still wearing it. Bought it at a local Rural King.
I have a hillside USA vest that I like a lot. They do custom work at a reasonable price. They can make your vest longer or change the leather, snaps, etc.
I have their Invader Vest.
don't buy a cheap 150.00 cardboard feeling vest. if your actually prospecting for an MC that is established and has a bottom state rocker then do it right.
you'll be wearing that vest everytime you ride no matter what the weather is. you need something that is going to hold up and has some actual "weight" to it and genuine cowhide.
buy it a size larger than the t-shirt you wear, you want to be able to wear it over a leather jacket in the off season.
i always suggest lil joe's. buy it once, do it right.

I was wondering the same thing about where to buy boots.
Go with Frye. Quality stuff. I've got a pair that are broken in right and they're as comfortable as an old pair of mocassins. If you wear em out, you can get them resoled.
