Take your time and ride it stock for a while. Too many choices and your tastes will change. Windshield? Bags? Exhaust system? Yadda, yadda, yadda. If you MUST make it sound like a real Harley buy a set of slip-on mufflers, preferably used from the forum or EBay. You can add Slip-ons alone without a re-tune
This is VERY GOOD advice...

Any bike with boards will scrape way sooner than one with pegs. I'm guessing you could always change then over to pegs for clearance. I've always wondered why HD didn't put pegs on the Slim. It just seems like a bike that would have them. My Duece scrapes my exhaust before my pegs.

I am 5'7 with 30 inseam. I traded in a Street Glide for my Slim. I like that I am flat footed on the Slim. And it handles great. Two things I would suggests. Progressive Monotubes in the front and a better seat if you want to ride more then an hour.

I am debating on apes or some pull back risers. And for exhaust I went with the Magnaflows.

They seemed like a good look to go with the old school S&S Super air cleaner.
Even with the quiet baffles they're loud, but not so loud that the neighbors will stop waving when you go by.
And they will bark when you get on it - at cruising speeds they reduce to a nice deep rumble that won't blow you ears out like shorter pipes will...
They also come with a crossover to aid in maintaining a little back pressure, which helps performance.
Couple all that with a V&H FuelPak 3 and you'll have a whole new bike.
The difference in performance and sound from stock is night-n-day.

I'm with him on all he said, unless you want to squeeze as much power outta that big twin, then go with the Propipe

Same measurements as you. Fits me perfectly. Much easier to park and back w/ the lower height vs my Road King!

I'm a little smaller than you and I ride a 15 slim from a 04 1200. The slim is awesome. Tried a bunch of softails at HD and the slim was the best fit for me.

What do YOU think sounds best? And looks the best?
Everyone and their mom gets a new Harley and shoves Vance pipes on it...wanna be just_like_every_one_else?

Take your time, see what pipes sound the best to you, and have the style you like the most.

Good choice on the chassis type....I'm getting older, I'm 6'5" but with a very bad lower back. Have had the Street Bob, did it SuperGlide style, had an FLH, wife has a XL1200, and I recently got the Softail in my sig pic.

Most comfy bike I've had yet!

Yeah they can scrape, but I also used to scrape my Dyna, and I had the lower pipe of my FLH scraped so much you could shave with the bottom of it cuz it was so thin from scraping! So what...it scrapes...that just means you're riding!

Roggow, what style of exhaust do you prefer? It can be hard to make a decision, since exhaust is just as much aesthetic to your bike as it is performance. We have something for just about everyone, but the most important thing is that it is something that YOU like.
