Ya got that right! Relaxed she was. The really lucky thing about our ride was the lack of rain. We were riding in between those storms all the way. Two nights it rained just after we got into our motel room. The last night on the road in Prescott AZ. it started raining as we were checking in so I had to ride about 50' in the rain. LMAO. It was great!
Sidecars are awesome. not sure why more people donât have them. i guess some think they donât have the tough image or something, i donât understand. They are nostalgic, eye catching, utilitarian, safer (i have never had anyone pull out in front of me, guess they can see me better) best of all they are a kick to ride. Whenever you get tired of them, just take it off for a while. Its a no brainer to me.
One thing that would be nice to have is the electric wheel camber adjuster. I want one bad. You can adjust the sidecar wheel in and out while riding! If you get on a road with a steep angle to it, you just hit a button and you then donât have to deal with the pull.
Glad you and moma are enjoying it. I know my old lady does. Not to mention everyoneâs kids, old folks, people with a handicaps, dogs, etc
I bought an Ultra with HD sidecar rig a few years ago so that my wife, who is severely afflicted with MS could ride with me. I was suprised just how much I enjoyed driving a hack.I sold it when her conditioned worsened to the point that she could not ride in the sidecar anymore. It was a lot of fun, once you get accustomed to it, and I still miss it. I would never go the trike route, if I ever need 3 wheels again it will always be a hack.
Thanks for the link TCC. Got to spend some time there and see what else I can learn.
I did have an interesting experience while on the trip. Had to get a new rear tire on the bike, so I stop at a dealer and they get me right in andout in no time. But the service manager asks who put the sidecar on, and I tell him I did, why did they notice anything wrong?
He says I need to take it to someone that specialises in sidecarsand get it checked out. Again I ask why, what did they see? He says that toe in is critical, I say yeah, it is set to specs, and then he says the bike is leaned out to the side too far. I say, in case you didn't notice there is a switch under the left grip. That is the electric lean adjustment and it's leaned out because I just came in off the road with a big crown on it. Short pause,,,, oh, we didn't notice that.
