Here is a picture of my rig I drove in Colorado.

At 107,000 pounds loaded, 73,000 pounds being milk, let's talk stopping distance, lol

25 years up and down the road. Happy to say I didn't kill any idiots.

But there were plenty of them out there...

I've been a commercial driver for twenty-two years and still can't understand why people pull in front of you as soon as they pass you!!! I don't think they understand that i'm not leaving the roadway and killing myself if something unexpected happens....I've pulled doubles with fuel (very dangerous) and still no consideration on the road. I get more respect on my bike

Interesting set-up, I understand the number of wheels for the weight, what is the purpose of the long space between the Tractor and the tank?

All of you be safe and alert for those that can't/won't think.

My best friend from childhood was a life long trucker, just retired.
For a while he was hauling milk from the farms to the processing plants in New England.
Lot's of fun on those mountain dirt roads in the winter.

Thanks for the heads up. But here in Wisconsin, semis sometimes force you to take risks to pass them. As more trucks are governed, they can take forever to pass each other. Sometimes 10- 20 mph under the traffic flow. If you're on a 2 lane interstate, with lots of trucks, you might not have safe margins for breaking through the blockade. So if it happens to you "all the time", there may be a reason for that.

On the other hand, I have had some big rigs come barreling down on me on a two lane, and ride right on my back bumper to "encourage" me to go a little faster. Stopping distance not as important in this situation?

Exactly this...
I travel from PC to Charlotte often and on some two lane highways there are these trucks that try to pass other trucks for miles. The are doing 66mph and blocking left lane traffic. I often wonder why the truckers in the right lane don't slow down a bit to let the other pass. Its as if the car traffic is being toyed with by the commercial traffic.
But as a mariner/biker I heed to the gross tonnage rule and give those 18 wheelers plenty of berth....
