Yup, I don't get it. Here in ATL I see people cutting in front of big rigs all the time, leaving very little space between them and the truck. I always think "I hope nobody stops too fast right now". The last place I want to be is in front of a big rig in traffic.
Fly vs. Windshield.
I pass semis as fast as possible, and put as much distance between them and I as fast as I can. I want nothing to do with them. This applies whether I'm riding or driving.
Having several uncles that were truck drivers, plus in all my years of driving truckers have always been great if I was pulling a trailer, etc. I won't go into great detail, but a truck driver I am certain saved us when we were caught in a terrible thunderstorm at night in Nebraska on our bikes. He stayed right behind us with all of his lights on and basically escorted us into a town.
My dad taught us to flash our lights and help truckers to pull into a lane, etc. I still do it to this day.

Cheers!
Yes. Me too. Trucks and motorcycles in particular are a very bad mixture. I keep away from them when riding and yes, even when driving. Nothing against truck drivers; it is just the nature of the beast. Big, poor visibility, poor braking ability, and not maneuverable.
Drove a truck years ago ,people just don't get it . I respect the hell out of trucks and truckers especially on my bike . One thing though I have noticed a lot of trucks lately swerving and look up and driver on phone or texting that scares me too . Thanks for the heads up .
I try to put around 5 car lengths between me and the semi after passing.
I have seen some pretty dip$**** truck drivers on the roads. I get a kick out of truckers who always say something like, "Hey, I'm a professional truck driver!". Just because you get paid to do something doesn't mean you're any good at it.
The truckers in Pa. have been pretty good IMO. I do believe that as the next generation starts taking truck driving jobs, that they will text and drive and all the other goofy chit they do. probably play Pokémon go while driving a Semi Truck. It wouldn't surprise me.
i pulled a trailer with a tractor with a bucket and brush hog with my suburban. people would just cut right in front of me not knowing that the train i had going would just run right over them. no problem going ,but stopping was something else. they didn't know how close to death they were.
