maybe he already had some gas in the tank and a couple of gallons is all it took to fill it up!

I misunderstood it at first post

What I gathered was that she gave the pump man $20..paying for $20 in gas for whomey. Then he said it cost him $6...I was thinking he added that TO what she gave the pump man. So I was thinking she COULDN'T have given him a $20, because gas isn't that expensive, that it'd take $26 to fill up.......yet[:@]

He never said he was "filling" up anyway, he wrote "fuel" up, so maybe he was just adding to a partially filled tank[8D]
