Run them tell there wore out then put on what ever you like or price is right, I went with Metzler just cause there a very well built tire try mounting one, there the stiffest out there to stretch over the rim. They are the longest wearing tire for motorcycles there are in my opinion. Very hard long wearing rubber.
I'm on my 6th vehicle not counting the lowrider and my questin is in regards to factory tires. With my trucks the first thing i did was trade in the stock tires for somehting better,,,,does this apply to stock tires on harley's?
I have had satisfactory results with Dunlops.I get about 20,000 for a front and 12,000 for a rear. I have ridden hundreds of miles in the rain without problems, and they handle well enoughin the curves.
I have heard that HD is changing brands as original equipment due to a shortage that the recent Dunlop strike caused.

Bill
I agree with Bill. I'm putting a new set of HD Dunlops on next week. I have a set of Metzlers on my Heritage Springer and they are fine tires as well. I just like the "Harley Davidson" on the sidewall of the Dunlops!
Tires are a personal choice, and the type of tire you like is related to your riding style. The Dunlops last longer because they have a harder compound, and are less sticky in the turns or the wet. A lot of folks prefer the Metzelers because they do stick better, but they wear out sooner. You'll always have to compromise one thing for another.
I've been riding on Pirellis. They are good for the money and they do stick on turns fairly well. I change my rear out every 5k and my front every 10k or so.
Dunlop tires aren't bad. I personally am an Avon tire fan though, for the best combination of handling/stickiness and longevity. I have only put about 2k miles on my new tires (just upgraded to 18" wheels a fewmonths ago), but I had them on my Buell and my Lowrider and liked them!
Of course, my only two real options were Metzler and Avon for the 18" wheel size I ordered!
