Track and document all of your expenses related to the accident in case there are issues with your settlement for the bike repair or medical costs. Also, consider talking to a lawyer the Law Tigers. They offer free advise, even if you don't retain them for a case.

Sounds like you are lucky considering. Glad you are okay.
Sometimes to just cannot be alert enough and respond quick enough. Amazing how quick it appends. I bet you replay it in slow motion!

When you're in traffic and looking around at other cars, do you ever think do any LEO's enforce cell phone usage while driving?
I know in NYS they regard it as a secondary offense, meaning they will only cite the driver if there is another citation going on
