The ex would get so paranoid that she put aluminum foil over all the windows in the house.... yeah that didn't look suspicious. Oh and no one was allowed to leave or come over between midnight and 6am probably not a bad idea in itself... so random nights we had different cars in the driveway all night.
Things you do when the street you live on is named Franklin, yet affectionately known as Cranklin.
It is not the aluminum foil that looks suspicious.......it's the constant peeking out from behind the aluminum foil that gets people's attention....
I pray you're joking, if not maybe you should just mount it on the wall in the basement so the sun can't ruin it.....
Sorry for taking care of my stuff. I'll shove the bikes outside right now for you.
On a serious note a window can magnify the sun coming in and yes fade paint and dry out the seats. Don't believe me leave your car out in the sun and then touch your dash.

I'm all for taking care of stuff, weather protecting it from precipitation or theft and whatnot. But I am not generally paranoif of sun damage on things that go outdoors, worst case I'll use a product to protect said surface, then relax and enjoy it...
If your garage is heated or air-conditioned, bubble wrap will serve the same purpose and add insulation. You can use it in your house, too. You might not like the look, but you can get the same insulating effect as high-priced insulated windows for cheap!
Just moisten it with some water, and stick it on. Add a light white curtain if you don't want to look at it.
There are decorative privacy film kits at Lowes and Home Depot in the window treatment areas.
I installed it on my garage side entrance door that has the window upper.
I got the rice paper opaque, not really decorative just has the same result as the OP's suggestion.
It goes on with water then squeegee it out with a credit card.
Removable
This x2. It's just like window tint. Easy to apply and removable if you'd ever want to without hurting the glass. I have it on the vertical side windows of my front door so you can't see all the way through the house. Don't want the neighbors looking in on me posting on HDForums naked, ya know.
