I used the dark "limo tint" film from an auto parts store on the windows in the door.

ADT Security Alarm & Cameras will do. Busted three. Told the cops/judge to go for the maximum. I have no pity for those lazy clowns.

Most thieves don't want your bike, they want tools and smaller items that they can easily grab and go pawn. I framed my window in and put siding over it though. Your bike is more likely to be stolen in a parking lot.

I'm pretty damn sure that all my neighbors know I have a Harley and they have seen it.

i painted the windows in my garage black and then screwed a piece of 3/4 plywood over them. i have plenty of lights in there, so that's not a problem. you would have to have an axe to get in there or a sawzall.

I agree that the OP has a good solution. Along those same thoughts, a good preventative move is to never broadcast those times you will be out of town. Only your most trusted friends and family should be told. That acquaintance down at the bar--who you really barely know--doesn't need to know you'll be several states away for 10 days starting Weds. He may be OK, but the unknown dude he mentions it to...
