Riding with a dog?
I have a '17 Road Glide Special, and am looking for suggestions on taking the dog with us. He is a pug, about 18 pounds. I'm looking at the kuryakyn pet palace, but I'm also open to other ideas. My other though is to get a tourpack and remove the lid (and modify to clip him in).
I already have a passenger backrest with luggage rack.

For whatever I could find. And, while you may think its cute, I assure you that many of the people riding in cars that you pass by are going to be thinking exactly the way I am thinking.

I really don't give a crap about what other people are thinking - I'd like to be able to take some trips and have my dog with me.
But anyway, does anyone else have some actual constructive input?
I've seen "dog house trailers" when I've watched videos about Sturgis. I'm not sure how safe they are, as far as turning over but I'd guess they might be as safe as a trailer of clothes.
Personally, I'd be afraid something would happen and hurt it. Or worse.

I see around here a guy who has his dog in his saddlebag, the lid off and the dog's head only out of it. My dog is 22#, similar to yours, doubt it would fit
Seriously, don't forget dog googles. You know think about if you only drop your bike when stopped. That could be tough on the dog
I've seen a few with a modified tour pack.
- cut a hole in the lid
- pad the cut edge
- install a windshield
- use a well secured safety harness
- some dogs will wear goggles, better if you can
Stop frequently for him to drink. They like to have their mouth open with their tongue out, and that will really dry him out.
This way, Rover wouldn't be any more vulnerable than a rear passenger.
I would be concerned with Rover breathing fumes if he was in a trailer.
