By frequent accounts, supported by the fact that some tenders are actually multi-phase units, its a good idea to occasionally disconnect your battery from its tender for a time. IF this is true, a weekly swap between batteries would not only be a simple idea but possibly a beneficial one too. One thing is for certain; being disconnected from a tender for a period of a week or two won't harm a serviceable battery.

I wouldn't re-wire the building unless I owned it !

Pull the battery of the bike not on the outdoor tender and put it on an indoor (your apartment) tender.

A few days can kill a motorcycle battery if it isn't in top shape and it's cold enough.

Bingo ... We have a winner. From what I've read on the Internet ( and we all know that it must be fact ) ... "If the two batteries are exactly the same make and model and state of discharge, you can charge two at the same time, but if they are different batteries, you can only charge one battery at a time" ..... according to one "expert"

Here is another source of info that is straight from the horses mouth ...

Give me a little credit. It's not the number of outlets. I can't store both bikes in that area. It's the physical location. No room for both bikes...

Or, if you don't want to remove batteries, get the "two-bank" or "multi-bank" charger...

So over the holidays I convinced the maintenance guy with the Can Am to install an outliet in that corner so we both can use battery tenders. (Though there are three other bikes there, they're ancient and never used). ... So ( maybe ) talk to one of the other bike owners and swap spaces ??????

Mine are all in my attached garage. I rotate once a week between the 3 bikes. Works for me just fine.

I think some are missing the fact the OP says the bikes are in 2 different physical locations, and one location has no power at all. The week on,week off should be fine. I rotate 4 bikes on the tender here and have no problem keeping the batteries charged and the oldest battery is 8 yrs old & 2 of them over 5yrs. I have more than 1 tender and power but don't need to use more than 1 at a time really.

Does your Dyna have a radio or security? If not, you won't have a parasitic drain on your battery and you can leave it much longer then your Road Glide. You could do a 3 week off, 2 days on for the Dyna, with the remainder of the time on the Road Glide. YMMV

maybe see if you can swap spaces with someone and get a spot closer to the other bikes for your roadglide.
