who's all going??? I got family riding in from New Mexico and My primo and his friends have been hitting me up about doing this river run.So I decided to do it.Gonna pull out the stock seat get it redone with memory foam.Got some extended Highway pegs, trying to do everything I can to make sure the ride is comfortable as possible.even pulled out the clearview shield....My wife is gonna follow me with the truck towing the trailer..Gonna pack whatever tools I need to fix my air ride just in case I bust a airline..Got my Monkey Butt powder, preperation H and I think I should be good to go.Is there anything else Im missing???
Why is the wife following with the truck/trlr?
Aren't you staying the 4 days?
The only thing I can think of is, GET SOME VISINE or other "eye wetting" agent. Laughlin sells out of this stuff by Thursday morning.
Get fueled up on Saturday evening. Sunday is "get away" day. The gas stations on Sunday morning look like amateur hour with hundreds trying to get their 2.3 gallons. Just ride right past them, with your full tank. Saves you 2 hours right there.
Enjoy the paddle walk, don't let your engine overheat as you sit in the mobile traffic jam.
I did this run back in '95. Don't bother putting a nickel in the slot machines as they've been "tightened up" to NOT jackpot. Go into a casino and listen. You'll hear very few bells from paying machines. Maybe none at all. Not like how it'll be tonight there.
The highlight of Laughlin is the ride to Oatman and feeding the democrats. (They always have their hands out!)
This run has gone in the tank imo. We did it last year and wont be doing it again. There is some good riding outside the aria but the entertainment sucks and a joke they start shutting down at like 10 pm. Your riding from Bellflower and worried about breaking down or your air ride going out? Heck thats hardly a 300 mile ride.........
We hit the River Run, its a pit stop for us. This year were starting in Wa State, running the coast to Big Sur, going east from Morro Bay through Death Valley and wind our way to Laughlin. Its all about the Journey anyway.
Wife and I ride all over the USA without chase, friends or anything else. We pack, she gets on and off we go. Good Times.

He might decide to trailer the rest of the way if the seat starts to scuff the gas tank.
My bride and I rode up last year from Tucson and had a blast. Yes, I hear it is merely a shadow of its former self but we still thoroughly enjoyed it. Either book your rooms early {like yesterday}, or take pot luck when you arrive. The folks that did that last year got much better room rates being walk ups.
I managed to hit a $400 jackpot on a quarter machine which pretty much paid for the whole trip. Sadly this year we will not be able to attend. My dad is turning 90 and we will be at the nursing home in San Diego to celebrate. Were it not for the party we would be back at Laughlin for sure.

While attendance has been down for several years, the run is hardly in the tank. Like anything else, the run is what you make it.If you're not having fun, you're either not trying or have the wrong friends. I believe this year is the 35th anniversary. As far as shutting down at 10pm??? I've been going off and on since the 90's and I've never seen that to be the case.

You sound like those guys that trailer from LA to Big Bear, unload their bikes and park them in front of Chad's. Then at closing time ride around to the back parking lot and reload for the haul back to LA..............saw that plenty when I lived in Big Bear.
