Just a couple of weeks ago in Washington they released a bunch of stats.
Last year on Washington highways, 82 bikers died. Of those 82, one third were not licensed. Also of those 82, 86% did not take any type of MSF course. Unfortuantely I didn't catch how many were the result of biker error. I'm sure that info can be found at the Washington DOT website.
Of the 3 that I know of that happened just in the last week here in Western Washington 2 were the fault of the biker.
I'm currently at the office, but you might start here:
I don't have any stats but I can tell you in my20+ yearsas a Firefighter, in all the motorcyle involved accidents I responded to the motorcycle rider was at fault ina high percentage of them. Alcohol or too much speed or both contributed to most of those.
The first link doesn't say what percent a helmet made a injury difference, and the second is just deaths, not accidents which is hardly different from near death accidents or coulda been death accidents, again without saying what percent would have died even without a helmet.
