Default Priceless...

Lift table off Craigslist: $250
Carlini 12" apes from a buddy: $0
Power coating apes matte black: $43
Burly Brand apes install Kit: $175

Installing apes on your son's Dyna instead of paying the shop $1500.... priceless

Nice! Your son must not have heard about all the problems HD is having in attracting younger riders!

Great to see young men on HD. Those were some of the best times of my life.

I'm blessed... I've got 3 more and two daughters that like to ride as well.

Cudos to you, you are definitely doing something right. I feel a bit of envy.

I'm very blessed no doubt.

My initial intention in posting this was more focused on how easy and inexpensively anyone can install some apes... A used lift table, a cheap soldering iron and a few youtube videos...

As far as kids go, I think they really just want to do stuff - kind of doesn't matter that much what... of course there aren't many things more cool than a Harley so that part is pretty easy.

I would say that I believe it's super important to support kids (especially boys... girls too) in what they like - from Harleys to dance to art. When boys are supported by a man, they then are made to feel like they are part of the "men" group instead of gravitating toward women because only their mom supported them.

Awesome! My kids (7 and 3) already have the bug. I was racing dirtbikes at 4 years old and it's been in my blood ever since. And wrenching the damn things turned me into who I am today.

But is a lift really needed to do a bar swap? lol

Your shop wanted 1500 to install bars?

yikes. My indy did my new Wild1 Chubby drags and fluids for under 250. I had it done right after I bought my new house, too many other projects to do it myself at the time.

Anyway grats on the project getting done. That table pretty much just paid for itself.
