Yep - I've noticed this forum, in particular, is filled with a lot of folks who post up seemingly off the top of their head - with no facts or data to back up anything they say. It sure can be dangerous to someone who is looking for some valid info. I know there is no "post responsibly" policy and that you shouldn't believe everything you read, but not every newb to this place knows that.
You do realize that this was a light-hearted, comical thread, don't you?![sm=chairshot.gif]

I decided nothing yet. My thumb screw doesn't work (and I don't like using it when it does.) It seems like the only viable product for what I want is the Brake Away but it seems like $219.00 is a lot for a little piece of metal! I'm stuck!

I don't know if you can or not, but I'd advise you to go with the cruise. If it's flat enough to watch your dog run away for 3 days, then a lock is ok, but here in the Ozarks, it ain't worth chit. We love our cruise! Now if I can only find the fubar in the passing lamp wiring!

How do I put cruise control on a dyna--do you know? Can I do it myself?

Michelle and I put cruise on our RK. Of course, it was prewired for it. Even then, we drank a ton of beer doing it!
You'll need to look between the cylinders and see if there is, for lack of a better word, a 'female O attached to the throttle body. If there is, that is where the cruise cable fits into, and then is held with a C clamp. Those little bast*rds are hard to find, and worse to install.
But to answer your question, yes, you can do it yourself, if the bike will accept it. Need to ask your stealer.

I know you think it is the thread's fault but let's go over this one more time. It's really not that complicated. Yes, it does involve two steps rather than one but you just survived a run in with a big vehicle so I think you can handle it. Pay attention now. Hit the kill switch and then turn off the main switch. Try it a couple of times before you leave home to get the feel of it. Atta boy. You can do it. I knew it. Chit. I bet you forget again.
I bet you're right! I tried it all weekend. I kid you not...I left the key in with the lights on no less that 6 times! [:@]

I QUIT!!! NO MORE KILL SWITCH
I think I see the problem. You have an advanced case of CRS. (can't remember ****) It usually only happens when you get much older but has been known to occur sometimes in younger folks.
