Well I am looking to you all to help me make a decision. Yesterday I visited Rob's Dyno Service in Gardner Mass. My friend was having Rob tune his CVO and while there I asked about bringing my 08 ultra back in to do some additional tuning as he did my tune back in 2012. After I put in SE 255 cams Rob took the bike and woke it up....I love how my bike runs, however I have been looking for some fuel economy lately. So yesterday I asked what he can do and he suggested we get rid of the power commander that I have installed and upgrade to the power vision. Rob charges $650 to do this. Dyno time is included in this which is about 2-3hrs. Now the cost of one of the modules is $550.....Because I know what he can do to make the bike run at its full potential, I am looking for advice on if this is a good change to make.....if anyone has gone this route and what their thoughts are.
Just buy an FP3 and map it yourself it's really not that hard, and putting the bike on a dyno is basically use less all you need is a tuner the dyno just gives you some numbers that most modern tuners give you right on the device anyway

This is patently incorrect unless you've figured out how to derive torque/horsepower figures from a tuner, or unless your butt dyno is consistently accurate to within plus or minus .5 hp/tq. Which I doubt.
I'm not positive but doesn't power vision have the provision to import a power commander map. For $399 from fuel moto and import the map you already have, you can use the power vision to adjust your mileage. Double check me on that before you buy.
am I understanding correctly that he will install the powervision, and dyno tune the bike for $650 total? if so, I think that you're looking at a bargain here.
