Help i am having major issues with getting my 2002 fxst standard into transportation mode followed all tutorials online followed the user manual Nothing all i am doing is pissing my neighbours off any ideas ...going on a ferry over to mainland Europe next month 17hrs crossing need to get this sorted thanks in advance
Not sure what you're problem is, but why not just leave the FOB on the bike?
Let's face it, you're on a ferry if somebody tries to steal it where are they going to go?
Anyway attached are the instructions that came with my bike.
Perhaps your instructions are missing a step.

Doesnt the 2002 have a passive FOB meaning you have to press the button for the alarm to be active? If so just leave it disarmed on the ferry ride, I cant imagine anyone steeling it an getting very far on a ferry
Mxdad
thanks for the heads up but this is a self arming bar steward so leaving the fob make no difference it will still arm beginning to think there something wrong with the system i mean it really is as simple as abc but its just not doing the abc
Don't blame you...I saw a couple of guys from Minnesota unload their bikes in Sturgis from an enclosed trailer. Both batteries were deader than hell. The alarms must have been going off the whole way.

I knew this was going to happen. in 2007, the security changed to the proximity fob, the op has a 2002, utilizing the 'old' security system. your instructions won't help.
op: did you try the instructions that I posted above? that came straight out of your owner's manual. instead of disconnecting your battery, if you are going that route, just don't activate your alarm.
Bluraven i did try this a few weeks ago but was only getting two flashes i will try again this morning but will have to wait its a wee bit early to be setting alarms off ...i know this is going to sound dumb the instructions indicate turn ignition KEY too the on position so its just the Key Yeah and Not turn the switch to ignition Thanks
this is what i am dreading pushing it off the boat chances are we are going to have to anyway as the authority's have a tenancy to breath test inbound bike party's in amsterdam
