Thoughts on this jacket?

Why on earth did you buy 2 jackets for $1k a piece?? lol
I had started racing sportbikes and recently painted my bike red with yellow pearl flames. I decided that since I needed a better jacket, I would get one made.
I went to Mid Ohio for the races and there was this jacket EXACTLY as I wanted. It had flames up the arms and the right colors... I couldn't believe it.
I asked the company that had it (Bates leathers) thatI wanted to buy it. They told me it was already made for someone (someone famous) but they could make me one.
I told them I had cash on hand and I wanted that jacket now. The lady told me since the person that had it made was waiting on a pair of pants and wasn't in a hurry, she would sell it to me under one condition... It had to fit exactly, she wasn't going to alter a custom made jacket.
I tried it on and it fit great except the sleeves were too long. Once I took it off, I looked at the custom label that said who it was designed for... NICHOLAS CAGE. I thought that was pretty cool.
Anyway, they made it for me (took almost 6 months).
I used that jacket for about a year and when I repainted the bike Honda's Erion racing theme, (don't ask why... it had to do with cops and high rates of speed) I had them make another jacket.
The jackets were great but expensive.
When the bike got stolen, I decided on a plain leather jacket. Vanson makes quality jackets.
Just an interesting story....
Sorry, hope I didn't hijack the thread.
I agree with the rest, Dianese makes great jackets, I just wouldn't get one that made me look like a power ranger.

Personally, I love a good leather product. Especially a finely crafted jacket. Nothing goes better with a motorcycle IMO.
I'm waiting for the current one I have to die (it's a cheapo that's now on its 4th year but is holding up great) so I can replace it with a Vanson.
Looks kind of...um...like...um...well I bet the matching pants have reinforced knees and a rear opening flap.[

I just ordered a Fox Creek "Classic I" jacket this morning. My 16-year-old Branded Leather jacket has a lot of life left in it but somehow over the years it seems to have shrunk.
If you want the protection but want a little more subtle look check out the Alpinestar Perforated Stage Jacket.

The jacket is pretty understated and I was able to remove the small logos using a knife. It looks like a black leather jacket. The jacket was comfortable even in the Texas heat.
Unfortunately I can vouch for it's crash worthiness. I was throw off my bike going ~45mph and walked away with just a little soreness. The jacket was hardly scratched and the armor did its job. I highly recommended it,
