I don't know... But I've seen a few folks take this to the extreme the other way. In their efforts not to have the mushroom head look they get these helmets that look goofy (in the other extreme) in how conforming they are to their skull. Saw a dude with a big fat head the other day with such a helmet. Can't think of a good way to describe it... But what came to mind was that it looked like he was wearing some kind of perverse prophylactic on his head.
Point being - I wouldn't get too caught up into the mushroom head look thing. Granted I wouldn't care to have a helmet that was extreme in that regard either. But I would look for a decent helmet somewhere in the middle that still has decent functionality. In my opinion it's safer and looks better - and smarter.
Do some searching. We have gone round and round with this. Just keep in mind that a low profile skull cap helmet even if it's d.o.t. is still truly worthless as a helmet. The only true helmet is a DOT/ SNELL. Make sure you have plenty of life insurance and medical. Quality of life sucks when you can't scratch your nose let alone your ***.
I ran my bike into a truck turning left in front of me at highway speed while I was going 55. Should have died but I'm stronger now than ever. Guaranteed I'd have died without a helmet. No, a half shell isnt ideal, but it literally saved my life. If size is keeping you from a helmet, take a half shell over nothing.

Welcome Nick and thanx for the post. We're reminded of that huge grey area between "My way" and "Nothing" where "Good Enough" rules.
https://akouryhelmets.com/ I have AK88. Their size chart is spot-on & quality is great. Non Mushroom Head!!!
I have a similar variant. The "Biker Helmets" version. Let me say with no hesitation, these are pieces of ****. If you go down hard you're DEAD. End of story. Take your chances (I do) and bask in the comfort of knowing you will never have to wonder if you made the right decision. It will be all over before you formulate the thought.
And, the first thing that will come to mind when you get it in your hands is - cheap Chinese junk. They aren't worth $20 and probably cost less than 5 in materials.

This is the first one I thought of. If it wasn't for the wind noise, I'd like to have one. And yes, I've worn a half helmet with earplugs...still too much wind noise.
