s & s super e enricher problems

Super E runs an enricher. There are two steps on it. In very cold I turn enricher all way on, give 3 twists of throttle, hit start button and run about 3 seconds then turn enricher off. Will flood out engine more than a few seconds, also hard on spark plugs. Only use enricher in weather below 30 degrees.

I went to the s&s web site to look for the parts and saw the enricher is a lot like on a cvo the spring is a lot shorter and the ones I saw were straight on the carb not on air cleaner, but what I think could be causing op problem is that the butterfly closes as throttle returns, unlike the cvo where the vacuum opens the slide as rpm increases. short of getting s&s to make a fast idel cam, adjusting the throttle tenchener might help to keep it runnin
