why does a "real biker" have to act a certain way? Why can't I just be a guy who likes riding motorcycles?

I dont know what a real biker is. I just ride and been doing it since I have 16 I am 69 now and have a few miles under my ***. To many bikes can't even remember them all. Did lots of repairs on the side of the road too. Back in the day only a few road bikes now they are all over the place. I do meet good people on bikes from all over, but I did like the old days better. By the way I do like the start button better then the kicker.

If it wasn't for all the new bikers there would be no HD at all. I could care less what others think of me, and vice-versa. I am looking forward to our local 9/11 Ride but I like to ride alone, and if I want to do so in my shorts why should someone else give a damn?!

I think there is such a mix now a days you still have your classic "biker" and if that's what you want go hang out at a local m/c they drink beer and chase tail all the time but unless they are on a run they really don't put a lot of miles on. Then you have your classic riders (witch I consider all of us as) we ride when we can and enjoy the ride I'm 58 and have owned a bike for 42 years and still love it I've ridden with clubs and ridden with friends. Now what I've noticed lately is there is a bunch of rider wannabe's younger guys buying Harley's just to bar hop. I had some fellas ask me to meet them at a bar for bike night so I went (I'm an alcoholic so I don't drink sober 30 years) so they are drinking beers and doing shots then they wanted to go to another bar 3 miles away so I went was having so fun as it was time for me to go one of the fellas said "it was good riding with you" we went 3 miles now if we had gone 300 I would understand. So that's what I see out there

Anyhow; folks can blame the Dealer and organizations all they like, but when it comes right down to it, they're only catering to us ! We have become the great "we we" society, largely eschewing individualism and embracing hive culture as we drink / walk / run / ride / mentally ********** together for "the cause", justifying every goddamn thing we do like we otherwise need to be guilty for enjoying ourselves or something.
Support / messaging for hive think is subliminal, courtesy of the Media, and all around us. Sometimes a guy just needs to give his head a shake and reflect on the reality that life itself doesn't need to be democratic or communally satisfactory. The village doesn't raise your children, you needn't support theirs, and if you want to just enjoy yourself irrespective of some moral group scorecard, that's just effing great !
