Summer riding jacket
Blocks the sun but let's air in. Cooler than bare skin as long as you're moving.
Rapid City Harley had some at half price during the rally last year...
I like to pour a bootle of water down my shirt then put on the jacket. I also wear a wet bandana around neck. It helps.
For dry climates, you can also cool by evaporative vest but I haven't used those enough.
All told - there's something magical about 93 or 95 degrees F - above it is like running a hair dryer on you and below that has some cooling effect. But in terms of protection like CE armor, air flow, etc, mesh jacket.
BTW, for more protection - if you want to look like a Tron character, you can get the Joe Rocket Ballistic models.
You can get "armor" (actually plastic) of you want more protection in case of a spill.
These jackets can keep you cooler, as they block out the rays of the sun.
We were in SC last week and it was 96-97 degrees and whatever helps is what I'm wearing!
I (we) found that a mesh jacket, combined with a long sleeve T-shirt can pretty much eliminate the need for heavier jacket up through the late evening hours.
My suggestion would be to watch for them to go on sale after the Labor Day weekend.
