What do you use for a helmet lock?

None. I sit it on the seat, and if someone wants it bad enough, it's theirs. It does fit in my saddlebags though. So I can put it in there if I go to places I think people will screw with it or take it. Like downtown the big city.

Or not.

If I think I need to use one, I have a cable lock. They're not that expensive but I've rarely used it. I try to stay out of "shady" areas.

I never leave it on the bike, there are a-holes that think depositing something in it is fun. I've had a squirrel dig a big hole in the insulation on one, too. If people think I look strange carrying a helmet in a store or restaurant, any place, I don't care. A couple of my bikes have storage I can put a helmet in, if not already full. My best helmet is a ff Arai, and those aren't cheap, I take no chances with it.
