.. prices are up only if the people, we, pay them.
Harley is in financial trouble. Their bikes are too expensive. One has to negotiate to find that they will come down.
I got my 2017 Ultra limited 2 tone last October for $24,436.44 out the door including gap insurance. Thats just about 6k off of MSRP.
I walked out of the initial negotiation. They called me a few times .. I said call me when the numbers are right .... once they threw the right numbers I went back in and bought the bike.To be honest, I dont know how they did it ! They also paid off my Goldwing. Any nay sayers .. just let me know. Ill take a pic of my sales receipt.
Cant fall in love, man .. well you can ..just dont let them know it. Love trumps $$$ sense. And certainly play the dealers against each other. But dont give dealership names. I found this out when I was buying a Ram. My salesman had a buddy at the "other" dealership and they were talking without me knowing. One of them slipped and said "Oh yeah I had lunch yesterday with.."
Im thinking about trading my 17 on an 18 just to get the lifetime drivetrain warranty that 10 dealers are currently offering. I will bring this receipt and say .. "Get it to this exactly and Ill buy this bike today." If they say no, I just buy the 7 year extended warranty from Cornerstone. If they go for it .. I have a new bike thats covered for life. This is an issue for me .. the 17 I mention above is ready to go over 20k alreay. A year old in OCT.
If you're lucky, and in direct path of solar eclipse, they might throw in a "free" pair of eclipse viewing glasses w/your new bike...
Then you guys back East will be able to Follow the Eclipse on its Westward path all day long.
Me, not enough of the West coast left to follow
Lots of things going up in price ...but wages stayin the same.
Oh well, I'll be watching the for the sun.
